Journal and Journal page

Hello Everyone,

I made ' Art Journal' with cereal boxes recently,

A lot of junk in this, which I wanted to reuse. Journal is hand bound. Cover is made up with scrap paper I keep under my pages while spraying the inks. And very small pieces of Ribbon added the grace. I love this 'Journal' stamp by Artistic stamper.
And here is the second page in my Junk Journal.
First page, you will find here

'Home' - Mixed Media

Hello Everyone,

I started off with packaging box, cut it into desirable size board. I adhered old notebook pages. Onto that first layer was gesso, then texture paste through Tim's burlap stencil. Brought the color on it with Distress paints. One more layer of circles with black gesso.

I adhered gauze. Next, I  prepared the black oval center piece with packaging board and attached. Made the circle with Jute thread (which came from home stash) and adhered behind the Bird's home.

Other embellishments are Prima Resin bird house, paper flowers, handmade leaves, wood veneer birds.

Mixed Media with Chalk edgers and stencils

Hello Everyone,

Mixed Media project today..

I have got this bunch of Prima Fluid and Resist chalk Edgers(CE) from Lulupu. I set a challenge for myself to use them only as a color medium....for this project.

How I made this:

1. My chipboard base and embellishments are pre- gessoed.
2. I stamped the scrip background randomly on the surface with 'Farmer  Jeans'  CE
3. With Harlequin stencil and Knotted Wood CE I created one layer.
4. Next layer is added with Wendy's Embossing paste and Rhapsody stencil.
5. I  got 3-4 colors on the Acrylic block from Blue and Green CE. With my water brush I picked up the colors and applied on textured area.
6. Next step is to make embellishments. I stamped the flowers with 'Blossom Bud' Resist CE and colored them with 'Hydrangea ' CE and water. I fuzzy cut them, layered and distressed at the edges.
With same method I made my leaves.
7. Colored the Gate and Lamp post chipboard with 'Turquoise Stone' and 'Cold Ice' CE. To spread the color evenly I used baby wipe.

Mixed Media Card

Hello Everyone,

My third post today, earlier two were scheduled as my DT work.
I made a mixed media card and can't wait to share with you.

here are some more close ups..

I could not take pictures while making this card, but here are the details of step by step process:

1. I started of with design paper from Prima free spirit collection. Rounded the corners.

2. I kept Crafters workshop basket wave stencil in cross angle and applied   texture paste in middle and all corners of paper. Let it dry naturally, if we use heat tool here, texture paste puffs up.

3. I spritzed Lindy's gang spray inks 3 colors - Blue Hawaiian blue, Tibbtan poppy teal and Bachelor blue. The trick here to get the layers is spritz one color, take out excess with kitchen towel and heat set it and the spritz another color. Alright that was blue color layer..

4. I knew I wanted to combine blue and pink for this project, so I brought Funky Fuchsia Dylusion spray and sprayed through Studio Calico Bauble Mask. You can see pink circles in the background.

5. Next layers are embellishments.. started with white lace, which I adhered with hot glue in the middle.

6.The beautiful flourishes are from Maya Road. Those are chipboard scrolls which I colored with Peeled paint distress paint and attached

7. In middle I've white decorative heart die cut, which my friend gifted me so I don't know which make.

8. Flowers.... most interesting part..Pink and blue are made up with thin foam, and green flowers are made up with paper and all are from my stash, bought locally.

9. I've made it more interesting with splatters of green ink, pearl thread, some green swirls and sugar dot.

10. And lastly I attached this whole piece on to the white card stock.
Hope this to helps to understand , how I made this beauty.

Homemade Flowers and Hand dyed Ribbon

Hello Everyone,

Homemade flowers and hand died Ribbon....yes that is the challenge for July at Our Creative corner. And challenge is hosted by very talented Astrid. Design team has given marvelous examples of homemade flowers coordinated with their work. Do visit Our Creative corner.....
I took a challenge and made my flowers with Retro flower punches and here is my project..

It is a kinda canvas board with layers, texture, birds and flowers... make everyone happy!!

Actually , it is not a canvas, I attached white Jute paper on thick chipboard, which looks like burlap. At the edges I've applied texture paste to give some grungy look.

This beautiful bird collage stamp is from Crafty Individuals. I colored it with distress inks.

And here are my flowers, which I cut out from design papers and Ek success retro flower punch. Leaves are stamped and fuzzy cut. I tried to dye white ribbon with peeled paint and broken china Distress stains, dont miss butterfly charm attached to it.

Canvas inspired by Alison Bomber

Hello Everyone,

Alison has posted beautiful Reverse canvas tutorial at Paper artsy this week and I couldn't stop trying out one.
As I didn't have  box canvas, I've worked on flat canvas. And here is my take..

It was total fun to work with limited color palette, as I've habit of using lot of colors and mediums.

Totally love the texture which I got from texture paste and acrylic color.
Hop over to Paper Artsy to see the details of this tutorial by Alison.

Fanciful feathers

Hello Everyone,

Art journal page today...

I had to make page inspired by Ellen Vargo, she has again shared wonderful tutorial at Paper Artsy yesterday. Her designed stamps are versatile. I've used stamps and stencils from my stash.
I wanted to combine one more challenge with this, A Sprinkle of Imagination- June Challenge, which has this color pallete

I've used Deep cobalt, Rich Ruby, Seafoam green and Irish cream.
here are some closeup views..

I started off with ledger paper, you can see glimpses of it in the background. Next layers were - gesso, Brushed Corduroy, Antique linen Distress paints, text stamping, stenciling (TCW -fanciful feathers, well rounded). When the colors were dried, I applied one more layer of gesso on fullpage. Then added my bird

Ellen has added this text strip on her page, which I loved so much. Visit this post for more details by her.
